I remember the day that this blog came to being. It was the middle of the afternoon and I distinctly hear the word blog. I had shared my testimony in a women’s group on FB. To my surprise, I was invited to do an additional feature piece about myself. The thought you don’t have anything worth saying crept in but I ignored it and submitted what I thought was an adequate bio. There was an overwhelming response to what I shared because apparently it struck a chord with other women who had gone through what I was currently going through at the time. All I did was be myself and the Lord took care of the rest.
A few days later, idea of doing a blog came to mind-clear out of the blue. I continued with cleaning the house but that word “blog” wouldn’t leave me alone to the point I had to stop and go to my laptop to google search what a blog was. Seriously. I had no bloody idea what a blog was. By this time my youngest arrived home from school. I asked her what a blog was.
“Your diary entries online,” was her response. By her tone I could tell that she felt the need to really break it down in order for me to “get it.” 🙂 With that, I did another search for blogging sites and landed her.
In those days prior to starting this blog, depression had taken over-it was ugly and I wasn’t the best company. I had my good days and bad days but there were days when I didn’t get out of my pj’s. My faith in Christ was there yet I had allowed the separation (and other issues branching from that) to take over. (It wasn’t until sometime later that I realized that the Lord was leading me out of that pit and into His plan and purpose for me. This was going to be the place for me to share His love for the ones Jesus died on the cross for. Not only that, but this was going to be the place where my Lord was going to reintroduce me to myself.
The thought of sharing the junk that my family and I have gone through seemed scary! Now, I understand the importance of sharing those real and raw things of life because we all need to know that we are not alone. If sharing an experience the Lord has seen me through can help someone else see that there is light at the end of the tunnel, then I will gladly continue to share.

I like your blog, my fellow Christian blogger! I shared some of the same hesitation when I felt the call to blog. Me? Really? Nio way! Yest here we are. I also share your view of laughter-its a must have in order to survive in life. If you can find the funny in a situation you can find a way through the situation. All the best on the wonderful day the Lord has made.

I had come to say thanks for being such a wonderful supporter and for following my blog, but then read your story and funny enough, about 10 years ago when I started to write, it was my daughter that told me to put it on-line also, although at the time, I had posted on LiveJournal, which was exactly what it was to me.. a journal. I liked it and sometimes people would read it, but it was not until about four years ago or so that I started to realize that you could touch others with what God has put in your heart. The last two years left me very ill and in and out of the hospital (thank God, I believe that the worst of that is over), so my time to write has been sporadic, but it is a love of mine. Just to say, your story is so similar.. Bless you lots, Easter

I was tickled to see that we have to same Theme. I love your layout btw! 🙂 Today has been a great day in the Lord. Meeting you via the blog has made me smile a little bit wider than what I typically do! I call it “chipmunk cheeks ” or that Kool Aid smile. Its contagious! So thankful to the Lord for the gift of such. God bless you, your family and your ministry all the days ahead of you Lord willing he blesses us to see yet another day to live life in Him.
Take care sister in the Lord!

Terra, to be a reason you are smiling more means so much to me, that warmed my heart and touched me when I read that. Today started out “not-so-great”, but is turning out to be wonderful, PRAISE THE LORD! (and to think I almost didn’t make that first comment today…but GOD knew about this new connection before it happened!) 🙂
I noticed the same thing about our blogs, I really like this theme. Thank you for your words of encouragement and blessing over my family and the blog. It’s strange, I never thought of this as a “ministry”, until I read your senentence. 🙂

(SMILING) God knew what he was doing today! Thank you Father for bridging the gap! Though today didn’t start off so great, it has been made up for. 🙂 Waiting on the Lord is a virtue. Be patient when we wait for the storm to pass, I try to tell myself many days. Every day we are awakened to see a NEW day, the Lord is giving us opportunities to make the best out of it whether it’s good or not so good. It’s a choice in how we handle adversity. I’m not saying it is easy at all, but I strive daily to look at life as a blessing and to wait out the hardships with a positive mindframe. Things could always be worse. I could be dead in the grave with NO opportunity to praise God no matter what. He sustains us.
Keep holding on my sister. Just know that I am not too far away in prayer standing with you to encourage you any way I can.
* and Yes this is a ministry. God keeps on blessing when we are the Hands and Feet of the Lord; His precious Son. I encourage you to keep reaching out verbally as a mouthpiece and physically as the vessel you are made to be in the Lord. (( HUGS ))

Thank you for commenting on my question tonight. I am delighted to find your wonderful bog, Dulcinea. Your name has special meaning for me. My parents took me to a dinner theater for my 16th birthday, and we saw Man of La Mancha there. The heroine of the play was Dulcinea—who became a wonderful loving woman through the course of the play….blessings to you on your blog that is a blessing–Kate

You are the first one to recognize and/or mention about where my name is from. In many ways, I can relate to her story; from Aldonza to Dulcinea 😉 Maybe more people can relate to that aspect than care to admit? What a special memory you have of your 16th birthday. I would love to see that muscial performed live! Seen the movie, read the book, but I really would love to see the play. Thank you so much for commenting and, most importantly, for your encouragement 😀
Blessings,
